Past International President Mary Breaux Wright (2012–2018) gifted our sisterhood a guiding truth: “A Good Zeta is a Well‑Informed Zeta.” This principle continues to shape how we show up for one another, for our communities, and for the legacy we are entrusted to uphold.
Soror Andrea D. Banks expands on this vision by affirming that a Well‑Informed Zeta is a fully engaged Zeta—one who draws on her education, professional expertise, lived experiences, and talents beyond the sorority to strengthen and elevate the sisterhood. She understands that being well‑informed is not simply about knowing policies or procedures; it is about using knowledge, awareness, and personal growth to advance Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated into the next 100 years and beyond.
A Well‑Informed Zeta is prepared.
A Well‑Informed Zeta is empowered.
A Well‑Informed Zeta is committed to excellence in service, scholarship, sisterhood, and finer womanhood.
And together, Well‑Informed Zetas ensure that our beloved organization continues to thrive—rooted in wisdom, guided by purpose, and ready for the future.
Zeta Phi Beta was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 16, 1920. The Sorority's international programs such as Z-HOPE (Zetas Helping Other People Excel) through Mind, Body and Spirit serve to empower people from all walks of life. As the sorority moves toward its centennial, it retains its original zest for excellence. It espouses the highest academic ideals and that has resulted in its members serving in groundbreaking roles in all fields of endeavor.
